Your wedding day is one of the most photographed days of your life, and choosing the right makeup artist is an important part of feeling completely confident when you step into that dress.

Perhaps you’re unsure how much makeup you want to wear. Maybe you’re worried about looking too “made up”, or you simply don’t know which style will suit you best.

That’s where my experience comes in.

I’m Karen, a professional makeup artist specialising in bridal makeup, with over 20 years’ experience working with brides. In that time I’ve worked with every age, skin type, face shape and makeup style imaginable — and I know how to create makeup that looks beautiful in person and photographs beautifully too.

My approach is simple: you should still look like you — just the most beautiful, confident version of yourself.

Whether you love soft and natural makeup, a classic bridal look, something more glamorous, or you’re not quite sure what you want yet, I’ll work with you to create a look that feels completely right for you.

Your wedding morning is about so much more than the bride, which is why I also create bespoke makeup looks for your bridal party and family members.

From junior bridesmaids to mothers, aunties and great-grannies, I believe everyone deserves to feel fabulous on such a special day. Whether your preference is beautifully natural and understated or something a little more glamorous, I will create a look that is right for you and your entire bridal party.

My goal is that when you look back at your wedding photographs years from now, you’ll still love the way you looked.

 

Your Bridal Trial

Once your wedding date is secured, we’ll arrange your bridal makeup trial, usually around three to six months before your wedding day.

Your trial takes approximately 90 minutes and is an important part of your wedding preparations. It gives us time to sit down together, chat about your ideas and create the perfect makeup look for you without any pressure or rushing.

I recommend bringing two or three photographs of makeup looks you love on your phone. They’re a great starting point and help me understand exactly what you’re drawn to.

But don’t worry if you have absolutely no idea what you want.

That’s what I’m here for.

With over 20 years of experience, I can guide you towards colours, textures and styles that complement your features, your dress, your hair and the overall feel of your wedding.

The trial is also about giving you peace of mind.

By the time your wedding morning arrives, you’ll already know exactly how your makeup will look and feel. There’ll be no last-minute decisions and no wondering whether you’ll love the finished result.

Instead, you can sit back in my makeup chair, relax and enjoy those precious wedding-morning moments.

And if there happens to be a little bubbly involved, even better! 

 

Makeup That Lasts

One of the biggest concerns I hear from brides is:

“Will my makeup actually last all day?”

The answer is absolutely.

I use a carefully selected professional kit containing some of my favourite high-end and professional makeup products, including MAC, Estée Lauder, Inglot and Charlotte Tilbury, alongside specialist pro products.

Your wedding makeup needs to do a lot. It needs to look beautiful in natural daylight, photograph flawlessly, withstand happy tears, hugs, dancing and hours of celebrations — and still look gorgeous at the end of the night.

Longevity is something I take very seriously, and my brides regularly tell me how impressed they are with how well their makeup lasts throughout their wedding day.

Where possible, I also recommend arranging your trial earlier in the day. This gives you the opportunity to see your makeup in natural daylight and experience its staying power for yourself.

Once your bridal trial is complete, I’ll give you personalised skincare advice and tips to help you prepare your skin in the weeks leading up to your wedding.

The aim is simple: healthy, hydrated, glowing skin that provides the perfect canvas for your bridal makeup.
